Fans purchase an Osimhen mask as the striker equals Higuain's record.

Napoli fans are so obsessed with Victor Osimhen that they are queuing outside the Stadio Maradona to buy not only his shirt but also replicas of his protective mask, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

With 17 goals in 18 games, including eight in his last six appearances, the Nigeria international leads Serie A.

He scored in Sunday's 3-0 win over Cremonese, and according to Gazzetta, Partenopei fans even queued to buy replicas of the protective mask he's been wearing for more than a year after suffering a cheekbone injury against Inter in November 2021.

Replicas of Osimhen's mask are being sold in stalls outside the stadium, and hundreds of fans were seen queuing to purchase the item on Sunday, before their game against Cremonese.

The pink refers to Osimhen as the "King of Naples," and the Partenopei are hoping for their first title in over 30 years.

They lead Serie A with 59 points after 22 games, having lost only one league game — to second-place Inter Milan — as their chances of winning the league for the first time in three decades grow.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old Italian continues to equal and break records as he continues to enjoy his blistering performance.

On Sunday, Osimhen scored Napoli's second goal in their 3-0 win over struggling Cremonese, becoming only the club's second player in history to do so after Argentine Gonzalo Higuain, who did the same during his time at Napoli in the 2015/16 season.

After failing to score in Napoli's 1-0 loss to Inter Milan in January, the Super Eagles striker has since scored eight goals against Sampdoria, Juventus, Salernitana, AS Roma, Spezia Calcio, and Cremonese.
