Christian Atsu, a former Newcastle player, remains missing. Hatayspor are still looking for Christian Atsu after being told he was in a hospital following an earthquake. Earthquakes in Turkey and Syria have killed over 9,000 people. In the aftermath of the tremors, Atsu, who plays for Super Lig club Hatayspor, and sporting director Taner Savut were reported missing. But it had appeared Hatayspor were able to relay positive news on Tuesday when club vice-president Mustafa Ozat said Atsu was "removed from the wreckage with injuries". Concerns remained on Wednesday, however, because the update provided to Hatayspor could not be confirmed when the club contacted the hospital. Hatayspor doctor Gurbey Kahveci said in a statement reported by Hurriyet: "[The club was told] 'He was taken to Dortyol Hospital,' and when the news came, we went and looked, but he is not there."
