On Valentine's Day, Erik ten Hag rides his bicycle past balloons in the shape of hearts after rekindling love at Manchester United.

Around Old Trafford, LOVE is in the air, and Erik ten Hag is to blame.

Ten Hag has restored Manchester United's groove after a rocky start to the relationship, with the club currently sitting in the top four and competing in four competitions.

And, ahead of United's next match against Barcelona, the Dutchman was seen out on his bike.

Ten Hag was photographed cycling through Hale Village while wearing a wool hat and coat to keep warm in the winter, with some appropriately themed heart-shaped balloons as a backdrop.

Indeed, United have felt the love since the World Cup, and they currently lead the league in terms of results since Cristiano Ronaldo's painful departure.

After an interview with Piers Morgan in which he blasted the club's owners - who have since put up a for sale sign - and said he did not respect Ten Hag, his contract was ripped up.

The club's most recent victory came on Sunday, when it defeated Leeds 2-0 thanks to a "genius" Ten Hag move.

Next up is a rematch of the Champions League finals from 2009 and 2011, albeit in far less romantic circumstances.

United will face European royalty at the Camp Nou in the Europa League round of 32 play-off on Thursday evening.

Barcelona is flying high at the top of La Liga after a big summer of spending backed by the club's future revenue.

However, United have been warned about a "surprising" Barcelona feature that would have left them perplexed, as they were at Brentford at the start of the season.

Their new weapon is said to be the Spanish giants' ability to run without the ball.

The last time the two sides met, United were defeated 4-0 in the quarter-finals of the Champions League in 2018/19.

In fact, the Red Devils have only defeated the Blaugrana three times in 13 meetings, with the most recent victory coming in the second leg of the 2007/08 UCL semi-finals, when Paul Scholes scored a screamer.

Ten Hag will be desperate to improve United's record this week ahead of the return leg next Thursday.

That would ensure a place in United fans' hearts for the foreseeable future.
