Vinicius found reason to celebrate when his goal propelled Real Madrid to the World Club Cup final.

The Brazilian winger's goal in last year's Champions League final against Liverpool qualified Real Madrid for this competition, and it was Vinicius who did the most to send them into Saturday's final, scoring the first goal in this 4-1 win.

The 22-year-old winger appeared at ease in Morocco in the semi-final, far from the commotion of yet another case of racist abuse directed at him in La Liga. In the absence of the injured Karim Benzema, he stepped up when his team needed him, aided by compatriot Rodrygo, who scored the game's third goal.

Back in Spain, police identified six people they believe were responsible for hanging a mannequin wearing a Vinicius shirt from a bridge in Madrid ahead of the Madrid derby.

And, over the weekend, La Liga filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor about racist abuse directed at Vinicius in Mallorca. The Brazil international has been outspoken on social media about his belief that not enough is being done to punish those responsible and eliminate the problem.

Real Madrid advanced to the Club World Cup final by defeating Al Ahly 4-1 in Morocco.

After Al Ahly attempted a comeback, Los Blancos experienced a momentary fright before romping to victory.

He is not helped by the scandalous implication from certain quarters that his actions have somehow made him the target of special attention.

However, this was a night away from the media spotlight on Spain. In the second half, Vinicius also earned a penalty, but Luka Modric's spot attempt was saved, forcing Madrid to endure eight minutes of extra time.

After Fede Valverde's wonderful second, Eduardo Camavinga gave away a penalty, and Ali Maaloul scored it to cut the deficit. They had worked hard for it. With a late goal, Rodrygo gave them the victory.

Real Madrid defeated the African Champions in the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium; they weren't at their best, but it was enough to get them through and they will now play Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.

Vinicius Jr. capitalized on an Al Ahly error to give Madrid the lead in the first half.

The excellent Federico Valverde then increased the score to 2-0 just after the interval to give Madrid the lead.

However, Al Ahly fought back and was awarded a penalty after Camavinga fouled El Shahat; Ali Maaloul successfully executed the penalty.

Madrid spent the majority of the opening 20 minutes in Al-half, Ahly's but the Egyptian team had the first opportunities, with Hussein El Shahat coming dangerously near and Metwaly Mahmoud misfiring from a corner as Madrid's defense was left open.

The defender was at blame when his team fell behind even though he had nearly given them the lead. Two minutes before halftime, he dropped the ball, allowing Vinicius to make a run for it. After positioning himself with two touches, he lifted the ball over Mohamed El-Shenawy as he approached.

For Madrid, both Brazilians had come close. Rodrygo's pass had been side-footed past the far post by Vinicius. After dribbling in from the left, Rodrygo fired a shot that struck the near post.

After the break, Fede Valverde scored the second goal after Luka Modric had let Rodrygo get through and El-Shenawy had saved. The Uruguayan kept his head up as he blasted into the goal while dodging opponents who were flying at his feet.

Vinicius tumbled in the area as Madrid were under pressure, but controversially, despite there appearing to be no contact, Madrid was given a penalty through VAR.

When it was his turn to take the penalty kick, Luka Modric saw the keeper of Al Ahly palm it away.

Rodrygo then brilliantly combined with Dani Ceballos to calm Madrid's nerves and add a third.

Sergio Arribas scored four goals in the dying minutes after being substituted.

Metwaly then brought down Vinicius while he was sneaking along the byline inside the area. It appeared to be a penalty kick, but referee Andrés Matonte dismissed the appeals both before and after VAR intervened.

The next penalty call was accepted, bringing Al-Ahly back into the game. Camavinga brought down El Shahat, and Ali Maaloul tripped Lunin to make it 2-1.

With five minutes remaining in normal time, Madrid was awarded a penalty when Vincius went down just inside the penalty area and VAR alerted Matonte, but Modric's kick was saved.

To calm the crowd's anxieties, Madrid did score its third goal, which was also scored by a Brazilian. Before converting from close range, Rodrygo and replacement Dani Ceballos made a fantastic combination inside the box. Madrid's final attack resulted in a fourth goal from Sergio Arribas.
